Tuscany is one of the largest and most important regions for Italian history, art, economics, culture and landscapes.
Due to its history and its strong cultural and linguistic unit, is also one of the Italian regions with the oldest and defined identity. Up to 1861 has been an independent state created by the Republic of Florence. Since then he has been part of the Kingdom of Sardinia, the Kingdom of Italy and today the Italian Republic.
